The Riverside Inn is in the small village of Aymestrey in rural North Herefordshire, 8 miles from Leominster and 10 miles from Ludlow.
The building is situated on a gradual slope with ample parking.
The area around the pub is uneven with steps front and back.
We offer good food, local ales and guest accommodation, one suite of which is accessible from the car park. There is a further suite on the terraced garden, accessed by steps and a gravel path and four bedrooms on the first floor of the main building, accessed by a staircase with grab rail.
The nearest railway station is Leominster, 8 miles away.
Wheelchair accessible taxis are available in Leominster.

Car parking and arrival

We have good ambulatory access.
There is level parking at The Riverside.
There are 6 steps up from the car park to the bar front and back entrances with hand rails.
All our staff are willing to give assistance up the steps and there is access to the lower Barn Restaurant down two steps from the car park.
The main access door is 107cm wide and the bar area is level.

Bar, dining area and restaurant

The bar area is level with wheelchair accessible doorways.
There is a step up to the small restaurant/breakfast room and a flight of 7 steps with a handrail down to the Barn Restaurant.
There are large spaces between tables for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
There is a mixture of chairs without arms and settles.
We can provide extra table lamps if needed.
There is background music playing.
The floor surfaces are mostly short pile carpets.
We cater for all dietary needs, allergies and intolerances.
Food is ordered and served at the table.
High chairs are available.

Customer loos

Customer loos are situated in the rear entrance lobby, up three steps.
All loos are ambulatory accessible.

Beer garden/outdoor area/smoking area

We have terraced gardens with tables which are uneven and accessed by steps. The Riverside tables are on level lawns with wheelchair access to ends of benches.

Accommodation – bedrooms

We have one ground floor suite which is ambulatory accessible.
Access is via a 105cm wide door up one step.
The sitting room has space for a wheelchair however the bathroom is ambulatory accessible only, having a shower over the bath.
The bedroom has a double bed.
There is a sofa bed in the living room for a family member/carer.
There are central ceiling lights, standard and table lamps and bedside lamps. Additional lighting can be requested.
The floor is carpeted in the sitting room and bedroom and cushion floor in the bedroom.
Non feather pillows can be requested.
Subtitles are available on the TV.

All other rooms and bathrooms are ambulatory accessible only.
Two bedrooms have walk in showers, three have showers over bath.
Additional put-up beds and travel cot is available.

Accommodation – public areas

All stairs and corridors are ceiling lit.
All surfaces are short pile carpets with steps at intervals.
There is one staircase which turns to the left with a handrail on the right as you ascend.

Additional information

Should the fire alarm be activated all guests are asked to leave by the nearest exit and assemble by the river. Assistance will be provided by members of staff.
