Welcome To
The Riverside at Aymestrey
Deep in the heart of Herefordshire countryside

The Riverside at Aymestrey - winner of Visit England 'Best Tourism Pub 2018' - is situated deep in the heart of Herefordshire countryside just on the southern edge of the Mortimer Forest, yet still close to Ludlow and Hereford.

Authentic and atmospheric, the 16th century black and white building is surrounded by the natural beauty of the River Lugg valley and is run by Andy Link.

We wanted to update and reassure all our guests our main priority is and remains to be to keep our guests and team safe, whilst creating an enjoyable and relaxing experience for all.

In order to achieve this, we will continue several of our health and safety measures.

This includes, but is not limited to, continuing to keep tables socially distanced, limiting our internal capacity, continuing to support track and trace by encouraging guests to check in with the app or providing contact details. Our team will also continue to wear face coverings, complete regular lateral flow tests and conduct additional cleaning and sanitising measures that we have had in place.

Thank you for your continued support, we look forward to welcoming you over the festive season.

The Riverside at Aymestrey has accommodated guests since the 1600's

We’ve had electricity, WiFi, flat-screen televisions and minibars - and a bridge - put in since then and our recently-refurbished rooms are all individually furnished, some with 400 year old beams embedded in the walls. Please be aware that some of our rooms are located roadside however if you prefer an alternative please call us and we can advise.

You can find information on each of our room types below, however all feature feather and down duvets with crisp white linen, and you'll find a flat screen TV, free wi-fi connection, freshly ground coffee and tea-making facilities plus homemade biscuits in your room for you to enjoy.

All rooms also have en-suite facilities with complimentary Noble Isle toiletries, fluffy towels and also waffle bathrobes available upon request.

Dining at the Riverside

Sustainability and ethical sourcing is important to us for our mussels and sea fish. We also score well regarding food miles for British produce and Fair Trade sources for imports. The kitchen garden is an important ingredient in the creation of menus and Andy and his team prepare the ground, sow and reap the seasonal vegetables and fruits.

We have designated "dog tables" in our bar should you wish to bring your four-legged friend to dine with you - please mention this when booking.

We are also able to cater for groups, so should you wish to join us for a special occasion please contact us to discuss your requirements.
